I have a confession to make: I’m a serial kitnapper.
Yep. It’s time for me to come clean. I am a consultant with 8,003 companies, and I’m coming for yours, next.
If you have a side hustle, there’s a pretty good chance that at some point in time, I’ll be kitnapping it.
What is kitnapping, you ask?
Put simply, kitnapping refers to when someone signs up with a direct sales company as a consultant, not because they intend to sell the product, but just because the value of the kit (see where we’re going with this? Kit…. napping?) is better than spending all that money on just the product alone.
If you fall in love with the product, and the kit offers a bunch of said product at a discounted price, it’s a no brainer to scoop up the kit, right?
And, now, you’ve just napped a kit – you’re a kitnapper, too! (I can be an enabler when I want to be.)
Here’s why I’m going to tell you that kitnapping isn’t actually deserving of the bad rap it often gets.

The kitnapper loves the product, right? That’s why she napped the kit in the first place! So now she’s technically a consultant, and can use her discount for her own purchases.
But the goodness doesn’t stop there, friends! When you love the product, and hopefully the company, you’re most likely sharing it with people. And what do you know – your kitnapping experience just became a little side hustle!
Or, if you happen to love the relationships that so often blossom in direct sales – you may find yourself building a team and running a part-time empire!
So, here’s my deal. Here’s why I am a shameless serial kitnapper and I think you should be, too.
If I find myself about to purchase a ton of a product, or going back for more pretty often, I always look into the price of the starter kit to become a consultant, and also the minimum requirements to stay active. If the company is running a special on the kit, well, that’s always a green light for me.
I really can’t resist knowing I am getting the most bang for my buck, and if it’s a product I fall in love with, the cost of the starter kit is cheaper than what I was paying for the product, and the minimum requirements are pretty easy to keep up with, I am happy to represent the company.
If you’re actually working a direct sales business, never underestimate a kitnapper!
And if you’re a serial kitnapper like me?
No shame! I always respect a fellow deal seeker and hustler!
(PS – My most recent kitnapping victims? Red Aspen and Color Street. Looooove both so much I kinda had to do it.)
