Marketing your online boutique is going to be most successful if you know who your ideal customer – also called your customer avatar – is. Figuring out your ideal customer profile is easier than you might think, and will save you a ton of guesswork (and cash!) down the road.
Every time you post on social media, you’ll know exactly who you’re speaking to. You’ll know which social media platforms your ideal customer on, what time she’s using them, what products she really needs and wants in her life, how much she’s willing to spend on them, and, most importantly, you’ll know her so well that she comes to you and your boutique because she knows, likes and trusts you.
When figuring out your ideal customer profile and how to speak to your ideal customer, here are some crucial questions to ask yourself.
- What does she do for a living?
- How old is she?
- Does she have children?
- What does she love?
- What are her struggles?
- What social media platforms does she use?
- Where does she consume most of her information?
If your ideal customer is a teenager, her budget and preferred social media platforms are going to look quite different than if your ideal customer is a mom to teenagers in her late 40s!
